To be or not to question

 

Slyly, he avoided all but the most positive

Statements of purpose. But it was like walking

In the snow unshod in January.

No matter how he danced, he left

A trail that betrayed him.

His only hope of making a sale

Was the confusion caused by the crisscross

Paths of hares pursued in the night.

Hung from three poles, under the sky.

At night the fire below can’t pierce

This dark brew. It’s the light of stars
